What is the House of Kyrtex??
My name is Kirsty. I am an artist, sculptor and Powertex tutor. I live in the North East of England.
The HOK was borne out of my passion for art, crafts, sculpting and mixed media pieces after many years of believing that I would never be any good at art by a high school teacher named Mr Stapleton, who I very much looked up to as a naïve 11 year old.
In my late 40s, I discovered Powertex which completely changed my perspective and how I viewed myself as an artist. I am an artist after all. I realised that art comes in many forms and there really is no incorrect way to create wonderful pieces, which are beautiful to look at and can also be useful. Gorgeous vases, décor for the home and garden, themed gifts, amazing sculptures, journals..... the list is neverending.
I use a lot of different mediums during the creative process, things that never occurred to me to use previously, and I am still finding new ways to add texture and interest into my work.
Now 3 years on from the Powertex discovery, I am making art on a daily basis and coming up with new ways to share my knowledge and talent with the world.
