Dravaryn — The Dragon Warden
Meet Dravaryn.
Ancient, watchful and not especially welcoming of uninvited guests, Dravaryn is a one-of-a-kind sculptural goblet and one of the more formidable guardians to emerge from the House of Kyrtex.
A fierce dragon rises across the front of the glass, surrounded by layers of individually worked texture, scales and sweeping spines. Deep greens, aged golds and darker metallic tones have been built up and dry-brushed by hand, allowing every ridge, scale and rather disapproving feature to emerge from the shadows.
Created using mixed-media and Powertex techniques, Dravaryn began life as a glass before being transformed layer by layer into something altogether less civilised. His sculptural dragon detailing wraps around the vessel, giving him a wonderfully tactile, ancient appearance — as though he has been guarding something important for considerably longer than anyone remembers.
Dravaryn is a decorative art piece and is not intended for drinking. He would, however, make a rather magnificent guardian for a gothic or fantasy interior.
For dragon lovers, fantasy collectors and anyone who feels their home could benefit from something keeping watch over the realm.
