Meet Through the Veil.

Life. Hell. The Afterlife. Three realms layered into one portal.

Through the Veil is a one-of-a-kind 3D mixed-media artwork exploring the passage between worlds — beginning within the living realm, descending through something considerably darker, before finally revealing what waits beyond.

The outer woodland represents Life, rich with trees, twisting roots, ivy, fungi, flowers and tiny creatures. Look deeper and the colours begin to change. Fiery oranges and reds emerge through the inner arches as the portal passes through Hell, creating a darker, more turbulent layer between the two worlds.

Beyond it lies the Afterlife — a distant, ruined landscape beneath an enormous glowing moon, visible only through the successive openings of the portal.

Built layer upon layer, the arches physically create that journey through the realms. Sculptural bark, foliage, roots and architectural textures project from the surface, while individually worked details encourage the eye to travel further and further into the piece.

Created using mixed-media and Powertex techniques, every texture, colour and element has been applied and finished by hand. From the smallest mushrooms and flowers to the crumbling inner structures, there are details hidden throughout the piece that reveal themselves differently depending on where you stand.

Through the Veil wasn’t created from a pattern or produced as part of a run. Its structure evolved during its creation, resulting in a completely individual piece where the viewer is not simply looking at another world — they are looking through Life, through Hell, and beyond the veil itself.
