The Thorned Sovereign

Meet The Thorned Sovereign.

Regal, imposing and perhaps not entirely benevolent, The Thorned Sovereign is a one-of-a-kind masquerade mask with the air of a ruler from somewhere considerably darker than our own realm.

His elaborate surface is layered with sculptural detail and rich metallic finishes, creating the appearance of something ancient and ceremonial. The sweeping forms and thorn-like embellishments give him an almost crowned silhouette — less a mask designed to conceal its wearer and more one intended to announce their arrival.

Individually handcrafted using mixed-media and Powertex techniques, The Thorned Sovereign began as a wearable mask before being transformed layer by layer into an original piece of House of Kyrtex art.

Despite his imposing appearance, he remains wearable, making him perfectly suited to masquerade balls, gothic events, theatrical occasions or any gathering where arriving quietly was never really the intention. When not being worn, he makes an equally striking piece of dark fantasy display art.

For collectors of unusual art, dark fantasy and anyone who has ever suspected they may have been royalty in another realm.
